Loved this event so much I immediately booked it after the last one! 

My biggest challenge so far!

The Suffolk Backyard Ultra.  Regarded as the UK's premier BYU event, attracting some of the best runners from around the world.

What is a Backyard Ultra?

You run 4.167miles, you have one hour to complete it.  You all start again on the hour, you keep going until there’s one left and they are the winner. 

Why 4.167 miles? Multiply by 24 hours = 100 miles.  

It was invented by Gary "Lazarus Lake" Cantrell in his backyard, hence a lap is called a yard 😉 

The UK record is 89 hours/laps, that's 370.8 miles!! 

Anglesey's Ring O' Fire.

The main event is to run all the way around Anglesey - 135 miles - over 3 days.

Rachael and I booked the day 1 event called the Firelighter which is 50 miles.  I have since managed to upgrade my entry to the main event, which this year they have changed to a non-stop race.....yes 135 miles all the way round Anglesey!
