Here’s your chance to win some big money while supporting an incredible cause!
The concept is simple,
you start on the hour every hour
and have to run and complete a
4.167 mile trail route in that time.
You must run the loop and be
back ready to start the next
loop or you are out.
The race continues until there is
only one person who can complete
a loop that nobody else completes
within the hour.
The UK record was set at last
year's Suffolk BYU
It was 88 loops
That's 88 hours, ie 3.7 days!
I am attempting to break that record.

There are 3 levels to choose from
Level 1 (Trail Blazer) is £5 per guess
Level 2 (Pace Setter) is £10 per guess
Level 3 (High Roller) is £100 per guess
What numbers can I choose?
You can buy as many guesses as you want from any level.
Just specify what you want in the entry form.
I'm a Trail Blazer or Pace Setter....
For Level 1 and Level 2 you can choose from 21 hours through to 88 hours.
Therefore 68 guesses are available for each level.
For the avoidance of doubt, here's what you can choose from...

I'm a High Roller...
For Level 3 the range has been grouped into blocks of 4.
Therefore there are only a limited number of blocks available.
These are the 17 blocks...
21-24 25-28 29-32 33-36 37-40 41-44 45-48 49-52 53-56 57-60 61-64 65-68 69-72 73-76 77-80 81-84 85-88
You need to specify on the form which block (or blocks) you want to buy.
Numbers 89 and over are reserved for Simon
If Simon lasts 89 hours or more then all monies raised will be donated.
You have to agree this is an awesome motivator and would be well deserved!!
What can I win?
The prizes are based on funds received.
For Level 1 and 2 the winners get 20% of the funds raised
For Level 3 the winner gets 30% of the funds received up to a max of £500**
If all guesses are taken these are prize totals...
Trail Blazer: win up to £70
Pace Setter: win up to £140
High Roller: win up to a whopping £500
** 30% of the potential total is £510 but it sounds so much better broadcasting £500 than £510 so that's the only reason for that little twist in the rule ;-)
How do I win?
It's really simple. The closest guess wins!
If Simon finishes outside the range, the closest guess takes the prize.
In the event of a tie the prize will be shared...
For example: person 1 picks 50, person 2 picks 53, no one has picked 52, and Simon achieves 52 yards/hours. Person 1 and 2 share the prize. Applies to all levels.
I want to remain private?
Some supporters prefer to remain anonymous.
I guarantee that if you tell me you want to make a private donation your details will NOT be shared with anyone.
How do I enter?
Entries can only be accepted via the entry form.
This is to make it as fair as possible (see next section why).
It also helps to ensure my privacy guarantee.
How will I know what numbers are left available?
A separate web page (click here) will be set up to show progress on which numbers have been taken and what numbers are left available, against each level.
I will aim to keep this page updated as regularly as possible.
I will assign numbers in order received based on the date/time stamped on the email in my inbox. Hence why entries must be via the entry form ;-)
I cannot control any delays from your device to my inbox.
Naturally we expect people to double check the progress page before entering.
If any numbers have been taken, I will assign the next available number(s) or block(s) and inform you.
If you are not comfortable with the new allocation you can opt out at any time, just let me know.
How will I know what is happening?
You should get an automated response when you submit an entry. However, we all know technology can let us down from time to time. If I get the email, but the automation fails, I am planning to email everyone personally, not only to show my sincere appreciation, but also to re-assure you I have got your entry.

How do I pay?
I will explain this when I contact you after you have submitted your entry.
Up to now supporters have donated through Just Giving. This provides a guarantee that your money goes direct to the charity, although it does incur additional charges.
You will still have that option, but I hope you will trust me and be open to alternative methods. I will provide details for a Bank Transfer. I will accept cash if we can meet in person.
How will the funds be donated?
Shortly after the Backyard Ultra, assuming I've managed to collect everyone's entry money, I will firstly announce the winners (unless you wanted privacy).
I will then arrange the appropriate payment.
Once the prizes have been paid, whatever is left I will then make a single donation via my Just Giving page.
I will leave the progress page visible on my website so anyone who wishes to check, they can calculate what was collected vs what was paid out vs what I submitted on the Just Giving site. This should make the whole thing transparent.
